Due to the recent resignation of Mortdale Ward Councillor Ashvini Ambihaipahar, the NSW Electoral Commission will conduct a Countback election to elect another Councillor in the Mortdale Ward.

The Countback Election is scheduled for Tuesday 8 July 2025.

After the 14 September 2024 ordinary election, Council voted at their first meeting to use the Countback process to fill any vacancies within the first 18 months of the term of Council.
