Council advertises public notices on this webpage to keep our community informed about a proposed action or decision affecting your area. 

In addition, Council places items such as on draft plans, projects, policies and documents on public exhibition to provide opportunities for members of the local area to comment and give their feedback.

Public notices are exhibited for 12 months unless they have a clear expiry on the notice of information to the community. All public notices are archived and previous notices are available for the community to access by contacting media@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au.



  • Carss Park Pool Project: Upcoming Piling Works

    Carss Park Pool Project piling works will begin on 15 September 2026 and continue until late October 2026. Residents may experience increased construction activity, noise, and truck movements during this important stage of the project.
  • 2026 Macedonian Festival

    Georges River Council received an event application this year for the proposed 2026 Macedonian Festival to be held at Carss Bush Park on Sunday 15 November 2026.
     
  • Notification of Works – Penshurst Lane Retaining Wall Construction - Bridge Street, Penshurst

    We are rebuilding the damaged retaining wall along Bridge Street, near Penshurst Lane. These improvements will strengthen the wall and help keep the road safe for the community.
  • Kempt Field Remediation Works Continue

    Remediation works are underway at Kempt Field to manage historical landfill issues. The reserve will remain closed during construction, with works expected to finish in October 2026.
  • Proposed Social Housing Development at 311A Forest Road, Hurstville

    Residents are advised that Homes NSW is proposing to develop new social housing on government-owned land at 311A Forest Road, Hurstville. The proposal would transform vacant land, formerly owned by Transport for NSW, into approximately 180 new social housing dwellings to help meet the growing demand for affordable and secure housing in the area.
  • Commonwealth Bank Mortdale Branch Closure

    Commonwealth Bank has advised Georges River Council that its Mortdale Branch will permanently close following a review of its branch network. The branch's services will transition to the Commonwealth Bank Hurstville Branch, located at 185 Forest Road, Hurstville.

  • Operation Grazing On Adverse Terrain – Weed Management Trial - Starting 2 September

    Council is trialling goat grazing in bushland areas that are hard to reach. This will help reduce weeds and support the recovery of native plants and wildlife.

  • HV Evatt Reserve - Trail Maintenance Works

    HV Evatt trail maintenance works will commence on Monday 3 August 2026. A small section of the car park will be temporarily used to store materials while repairs are completed.
  • Sign Replacement at Tiley Reserve

    Council is replacing the sign at ‘Tiley Reserve’ on Andover Street, Carlton. Correcting a spelling mistake that was on the old sign.
  • Updated Planning Controls for the Moomba to Sydney Ethane (MSE) Pipeline

    Planning controls have been updated for land near the Moomba to Sydney Ethane (MSE) Pipeline after it changed from carrying ethane to natural gas. A new 200-metre review area will require NSW Government consultation for some sensitive developments. Such as childcare centres, schools, hospitals and residential care facilities.
