Council’s Event Grants Program provides local not-for-profit community organisations with the opportunity to apply for grant funding to support and strengthen the running of a community event held in the Georges River local government area.

The program helps build the capacity of local not-for-profit community organisations to deliver safe and compliant events that provide ongoing social, cultural and economic benefits to the Georges River community. 
 

Available Support

Under this program Council can provide two types of support:

• Financial support.

• In-kind support – waiving of council fees and charges for events in parks and town centres.

Applications for an Event Grant must be received in conjunction with a Georges River Council Event Application Form. For more information, please see the Event Grant Guidelines and the Grants and Donation Policy.
 

Key Dates

Event Grants are currently closed.

The next round will open on the 1 October 2026. This round of funding is available for eligible events taking place between February 2027 and April 2027.

Funding decisions will be finalised by the end of December 2026. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by email.
