Councillor Sam Stratikopoulos is serving his third term on Georges River Council. He was first elected as a Councillor in 2017. Councillor Stratikopoulos was elected as Deputy Mayor in September 2025.
He was also a Councillor on the former Kogarah City Council. He served from 2012 until the the Council merged into Georges River Council.
Councillor Stratikopoulos has lived in the Blakehurst Ward for most of his life. He attended Sydney Technical High School. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Councillor Stratikopoulos worked for a major accounting firm. He then managed a small family business for over 20 years.
Councillor Stratikopoulos is passionate about community engagement and supporting local sporting programs. He wants the community to thrive, both culturally and socially. His focus on balancing finances with community needs is key to his service on Council. Councillor Stratikopoulos is a representative on the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC). He is also a representative on the Sydney South Planning Panel Committee. He is a non-voting member for the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
Councillor Stratikopoulos is a member of the Finance and Governance Committee. He is also a member of the Assets and Infrastructure Committee.
He is a representative on the Sydney South Planning Panel.
