Bushcare volunteer groups
Volunteer with us and help improve our local bushland. Plus, you will meet and work with other like-minded community members.
Our Bushcare volunteers work to protect our local bushland. They tackle issues such as:
-
Vegetation fragmentation.
-
Urban run-off.
-
Invasion or spread of garden species and noxious weeds (such as lantana and privet).
-
Vandalism (including tree poisoning and rubbish dumping).
-
Feral animals.
Our volunteers gain skills by helping to enhance the diversity of our native plants. They also create habitats for local wildlife.
Council’s qualified bush regenerators offer training and supervision to volunteers. Tools and equipment are provided by Council.
For more information and to register your interest, visit our Bushcare Volunteering webpage.
You can find more volunteer opportunities with Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society and the Georges Riverkeeper.
