In recent years the Georges River LGA's population has grown from 110,000 in 1991 to over 158,000 in 2023.

We are a diverse community, with 50.2% of residents born overseas in 2021. The top five countries of origin are:
- China (excludes SARs and Taiwan).
- Nepal.
- Hong Kong (SAR of China).
- Philippines
- Greece.
Over half the population speaks a language other than English at home. This adds to the region's rich cultural diversity.

The Georges River LGA prioritises education and has a well-educated population. In 2021, 65.3% of residents had a non-school qualification. Of these, 22.9% had a bachelor's degree and 9.4% had a postgraduate degree. This translates to a highly skilled workforce, attractive to businesses of all sectors.
