Council manages a number of bushland reserves and parklands. When the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) declares elevated fire danger conditions, Council may implement additional measures. This helps reduce the risk of bushfire ignition and protect the community.
 

Extreme Fire Danger Rating

When an Extreme Fire Danger Rating is declared, Council may:

• Increase patrols in bushland reserves and parks.

• Review or postpone construction, maintenance and other planned activities.

• Introduce temporary restrictions where required.

Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating

When a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared, Council may:

• Temporarily close bushland reserves and other high-risk areas.

• Cancel sports field bookings, events and other outdoor activities where necessary.

• Restrict access to certain locations to help protect public safety.
