The NSW Seniors Festival is back for 2026!

Join us as we celebrate the NSW Seniors Festival from Monday 2 March to Sunday 15 March 2026. The 2026 theme is 'Live life in colour'. Together we will recognise our vibrant Georges River seniors community.

Council will hold events and initiatives throughout the festival to celebrate local seniors. Please check back on this page regularly for updates.

 

Georges River Seniors Expo

Enjoy performances, information workshops, health checks and lots of free activities! The expo will also connect you with community organisations supporting seniors in Georges River.

Bring your friends and family for a local day out and enjoy a free BBQ lunch and refreshments.

Date: Wednesday 4 March 2026.
Time: 10.00am - 2.00pm.
Where: Mortdale Community Centre, 2b Boundary Road, Mortdale.
Cost: Free.

Tech Savvy Seniors (Cantonese): Sessions

Helping seniors with little or no digital experience develop skills and confidence in using technology for socialising, accessing services and conducting personal business.

Tech Savvy Seniors is a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra providing free technology training to seniors through NSW public libraries.

Date: Monday 2 March 2026 to Monday 23 March 2026.
Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm.

Get Crafty: Watercolour Landscapes for Seniors at Oatley Library

As part of the NSW Seniors Festival, this beginner-friendly workshop invites seniors to explore watercolour for capturing the essence of place.

Bring a photo of a landscape that matters to you (even just on your phone). Use your favourite landscape to learn foundational watercolour techniques and translate it onto paper. We'll cover washes, gradients, lifting paint to create skies, water, trees, and texture.

Date: Monday 2 March 2026.
Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm.
Where: Oatley Library.
Cost: $8.50.

Community Grants and Micro Grants Information Session for Seniors

This information session is free and held as part of NSW Seniors Festival and is designed specially for seniors or organisations running projects for seniors.

Baby Explorers: Grandparents Day

A fun and engaging program for babies up to 12 months with their carers.

Each month, discover new ways to play and connect through art-themed activities. This is a special Grandparents Day session.

Date: Thursday 12 March 2026.
Time: 10.30am - 11.45am.
Where: Hurstville Museum & Gallery.
Cost: $5.25 per adult participant. babies and grandparents are free.

Community Cyber-Safe Workshop
