Ready to wield the magic of storytelling? Let your imagination run wild and join us for this fun, hands-on writing workshop for teenagers all about the genre of fantasy!
Award winning writer Aylish Dowsett will take you through all things adventure, magic, monsters and more.
In this workshop:

• Learn how to create your own fantasy creatures, monsters, and characters.

• Explore your favourite fantasy worlds and what makes them exciting.

• Experiment with magic, powers, and fantastical ideas.

• Create your own fantasy stories and adventures.

About the Facilitator:
Aylish Dowsett is an award-winning writer, tutor, and copywriter. She teaches creative writing at The Writers’ Studio, The Writing Quarter, Creative Writing Ink, and St George and Sutherland Community College. Her work has been published in Mythrill Fiction, Collider, Honi Soit, Grapeshot, The Quarry, and many others. She loves cats and all things weird and British.

More information 

• Please bring a pen or pencil and paper to write on.

• ​For participants aged 12 years and under, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program. For safety reasons, one parent/guardian can only be responsible for a maximum of 4 children (1:4 ratio).

• For participants under the age of 16, parent and/or guardian contact details must be provided at the time of booking.

• If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.

• If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces and repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations, bookings may be refused in the future.

• The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
