GRYfest - Georges River Youth Festival

Youth Week is a week-long celebration held in April each year that is organised by young people, for young people, in communities across the state.

Following the success of the NSW Youth Week program, Youth Week became a national event in 2000. National Youth Week is jointly supported by the Australian government, state and territory governments and local governments.

The Youth Week theme for 2025 is:

"I am______________.

We are the future, and the future is now!"

For more information, visit the NSW Government Youth Week webpage.

What are we doing

Local youth are invited to celebrate Youth Week with a range of programs and free events popping up throughout the Georges River local government area.

‘GRYFest’ has been designed in consultation with Council’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and local youth services to ensure it aligns with the needs and interests of local youth.

Engaging programs will provide young people with access to the beautiful and inclusive facilities and green spaces that the local government area provides, as well as witness the talents of up and coming amateur musicians connected to Georges River.

Battle of the Beats

The Battle of the Beats competition is a key event in the Georges River Youth Festival (GRYFest), designed to showcase the talents of young, amateur musicians.

Returning for the third time, we're preparing for Battle of the Beats 2025 to be even bigger and better! Five new musical acts will hit the stage and perform with a chance to win some awesome prizes!

Georges River Council has again partnered with 3Bridges to deliver the event and is grateful for the contribution from the event sponsors - Optus, Bondi Radio, and Greenfern Studios

Olds Park Youth Festival

Olds Park Youth Festival is a free event offering children, young people, and families an opportunity to engage with activities that are not readily available in the Georges River area. Roll on in for an epic celebration during #NSWYouthWeek at Olds Park Skate Park!

Georges River Council is grateful for the contribution from Optus who have kindly sponsored this event.
