Be a Voice for Seniors in Georges River

20/06/2025

Georges River Council is inviting community members to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to join the Georges River Council Seniors Advisory Committee.

Committee members will be able to guide initiatives planned and delivered by Council, while representing the diverse voices and needs of older people throughout Georges River.

The EOI is open to community members who:

  • Are over the age of 55 (or over 45 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples).

  • Have a connection to the Georges River Council local government area.

  • Have experience as a carer or represent a local aged care service or other organisation that works with seniors.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “The Seniors Advisory Committee presents a wonderful opportunity for members of our community to make a real positive impact for seniors within the Georges River area.

“Committee members are able to influence policies and programs that have an effect on seniors, have their say and share their expertise, learn and develop new skills.

“It also presents an opportunity to enhance community connection and interact with likeminded individuals who are interested in achieving the same goals for our seniors.

“I encourage all who are eligible to submit an EOI.”

The EOI closes on Tuesday 24 June.
