Council has partnered with Sydney Dogs & Cats Home to provide FREE cat desexing and microchipping services for residents of the Georges River Council area. Georges River Council strongly advocates for responsible cat ownership and desexing your cat benefits both your pet and the community.

Desexing is the most effective way to prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of homeless cats. Desexing also improves your cat’s health and reduces behavioural issues like roaming or fighting with other cats. Cats can start breeding from as young as 4 months and owners of cats not desexed by this age are required to pay an annual permit fee until their cat is desexed.

Who is eligible?
All cat owners of Georges River Council over 18 years of age. Proof of ownership for non-microchipped animals may be required.

What services are being offered?

• Free Desexing.

• Free Microchipping.

Bookings and what you need to apply

• Submit an application using the bookings button and online form below or by contacting customer service. Valid ID showing your place of residence is required upon applying.

• Once the application form is submitted you will be contacted by our Companion Animal Ranger. They will provide confirmation and desexing vouchers to be redeemed at Sydney Dogs & Cats Home.
