Background

Council received a grant from the NSW Government's Vibrant Streets Package – Permit/Plug/Play (PPP) Pilot Program. This proposed development application is an action of this program.

The PPP pilot program, in partnership with 17 Councils, aims to transform streets into thriving, community-centric places by simplifying the process of delivering street-based events.
Development Application Details

Council engaged external town planners ‘Milestone (Aust) Pty Ltd’ to prepare and lodge the proposed development application.

The application seeks planning approval to utilise Carss Park for community, cultural, and corporate activations/events. These could be Council or Community led.

Council aims to streamline the approval process for activations/events, making it easier and more affordable for activation of community events in Carss Park.

The proposed application covers up to 52 community events per year over 5 years.

It does not pertain to any specific activations/events.

Council considers economic development and local businesses before approving any event permit.
