Bin collection day changes starting soon in Georges River

26/02/2025

Georges River Council is reminding residents and businesses that bin collection day changes will be starting from Sunday 2 March 2025.

All properties (domestic and commercial) using Council waste services would have received a letter and a sticker on their bin during January and February 2025 confirming their bin collection day, whether it changes or stays the same.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “as we roll out our new bin collection schedule, we kindly ask for your support in helping ensure everyone is aware of the upcoming changes.

“Please take a moment to check with your neighbours, especially those who may need a little extra assistance, and remind them of the new bin collection day.

“If you're unsure of your collection day, don’t hesitate to visit our website or contact the Waste Hotline directly for more information.

“Together, we can make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone in our community.”

Strata or building managers were also informed about any changes for multi-unit buildings with shared bins during January and February 2025.

Council is encouraging residents to set reminders, keep the letter somewhere visible, like on the fridge, and mark your new bin collection day on your calendar.
