HSC English Module A and B Essay Writing Seminar

Discover how to write strong HSC essays for Module A: Textual Conversations and Module B: Critical Study of Literature at this free HSC seminar from Dymocks Tutoring.
 
Students will learn about common mistakes made when writing essays, the types of HSC questions you might encounter and how to prepare for each one, and different ways to structure the paragraphs in Module A and Module B essays.
 
The seminar will also cover:

  • Close study of thesis and topic statement writing.

  • What to memorise and what to write from scratch.

  • How to integrate context into your analysis.

  • How to analyse textual evidence in depth.


Throughout the seminar participants will examine model responses for texts including:

  • Richard III and Looking for Richard.

  • The Tempest and Hag-Seed.

  • Mrs Dalloway and The Hours.

  • T.S. Eliot’s poetry.

  • Henry IV Part I.

  • Emma.

  • All worksheets and handouts will be provided. Bring a device to make digital notes or a pencil case if you prefer to write by hand.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
