Studio Lighting for Portrait Photography (Council Led Event)

Did you know Hurstville Library is equipped with a fully functional photography studio for use by members of Georges River Libraries?
Join us for an introductory session on how to use the lighting equipment and editing tools in the Media Lab to create stunning portraits!
From photography and video to 3D Design and animation, the Media Lab has a fully equipped photography and video studio with a range of studio lighting equipment. We also have a range of software accessible through the Media Lab PCs which includes the full Adobe Suite, Davinci Resolve and 3D design software such as Blender. Not only that, we have a huge selection in our Digital Tools Collection including DSLR Cameras, GoPros and audio recording and podcasting kits.
In this session you will learn:
- Safe set-up and use of the studio lighting equipment in the Media Lab.
- Learn portrait photography fundamentals including lighting patterns and reading a lighting diagram.
- Learn about tethered capture and editing with Adobe Lightroom.
- Learn about upcoming Media Lab workshops and how to book the Media Lab for your own projects.

- For participants under the age of 16, parent and/or guardian contact details must be provided at the time of booking.
- If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
- If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
