Re-tread Bike Day (Council Led Event)

26/10/2024 - Lifesaving Hall, Carss Park.

Do you have an old bike or scooter you no longer need? Would you like a brief chat with a bike mechanic? Do you want to learn how to maintain your own bike? This event has it all.

  • Drop-off: 9.00am - 1.00pm.
    Residents of the Georges River area can drop off any old or unwanted bikes and scooters for free.

  • Check and Tune: 9.00am - 1.00pm.
    Do you have an old bike with minor issues or are unsure if it is worth fixing.  You can chat with a bike mechanic to discuss how or where to fix it, or they may be able to fix the small issues on the spot. Check and Tune is only available for standard bicycles. If our bike mechanics are busy when you arrive grab a ticket and come back. Please note time with the mechanics are limited to 15 mins per person.

  • Bike Workshop: 10.00am - 12.00pm.
    Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, a workshop is perfect for anyone looking to learn more about bike maintenance and repair. Workshop runs for 2 hours. Bookings are essential for the workshop only and can be booked via th4e button below.

Accepted Drop-off Items:

  • Bicycles.
  • E-Bikes.
  • Scooters.
  • E-Scooters.
  • Balance Bicycles.
  • Childrens Bicycles.
  • Childrens Tricycles.
  • Childrens Personal Transport Vehicles.

Bikes and scooters dropped off will be repurposed where possible. However, any items at the end of life will be taken apart and the individual components will be reused or recycled.
