Mental Health Month: Self-Care Bingo and Books on Prescription (Council Led Event)

Hurstville Library.
01/10/2024 - 31/10/2024

Taking small actions to support and tend to our self-care adds up! This Mental Health Month, care for yourself with books on prescription and receive a self-care bingo card and lists of recommend books and programs available through your library.

This October, celebrate Mental Health Month with Georges River Libraries. Mental Health issues affect all people at different times throughout their life. Reading inspiring stories, participating in social activities, and creative and mindfulness-based activities can offer improvement to our general wellbeing while also offering a practical outlet for stress. This month, set the intention to tend to your wellbeing by visiting your library to borrow a book on prescription and working your way through our take-home self-care bingo card.

Some of the things you will find in your library’s books on prescription display:

  • Recommended books and e-books to lift your mood or help you understand or improve your mental health.
  • A self-care bingo card with 25 prompts to choose at random to help you practice mindful activities to support your wellbeing.
  • Information on social activities you can join at your libraries.

Visit any Georges River Libraries branch during opening hours to collect a self-care bingo card and browse a display of recommended reads. Self-care bingo cards available while supplies last.

This event is suitable for ages 12 years and over.
