Wrap With Love Knit In (Council Led Event)

12/08/2024 - Clive James Library and Service Centre, Belgrave Street, Kogarah.

Join our annual Knit-In and knit, crochet, and assemble cozy blankets for those in need.

Join the Kogarah Knitters for our annual Wrap With Love Knit-In to knit, crochet, and assemble cozy blankets for those in need. Wrap With Love has been collecting volunteer-made blankets for those who could use some warmth since 1992. Drop in to contribute some stitches to this great cause while having a chat and enjoying a cuppa. All skill levels are welcome and donations of wool or incomplete projects are gladly accepted.

To learn how to knit a square, please see the attached PDF for instructions on knitting a square for Wrap With Love or follow along with the Kogarah Knitters here: How to knit a square with the Clive James Library Knitting Group.

About Wrap With Love:

‘Cold humanity is our concern, people caring about other people.’ There are millions of people in the world suffering extreme cold. In 1992 Wrap with Love began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm Wraps to ward off hypothermia and in the past 23 years Wrap With Love have sent more than 400,000 Wraps to people in over 75 countries, including Australia, with the help of hardworking and generous volunteers.

Most of us can knit and sew. Just one square provides one twenty-eighth of warmth, and collectively, twenty-eight assembled squares create one whole warm and sheltering Wrap.
