Science Week Play and Explore - Electronic Papercraft (Council Led Event)

10/08/2024 - Hurstville Library.

Play, explore, and engineer an electrical masterpiece with paper, copper tape, batteries and a motor!

Celebrate Science Week in this STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) activity where children aged 8 and up will learn about circuits and basic electronics and create a game where survival of the fittest takes on a whole new meaning.

No experience with electronics is required in this workshop for everyone from beginners to seasoned circuitry creators.

About the facilitator:
Albert Ong is the founder of Tinkery, an edTech social startup aiming to make hands on learning accessible through creative prototyping kits and courses.

Albert has over a decade of experience as a hybrid mechatronics engineer, biotechnologist and interaction designer, and has worked on a range of industry and research projects ranging from art installations at Vivid Sydney, rehabilitative games and exoskeletons, bioreactors, drones, makerspaces, industrial robots, facility management systems, green architecture, and speculative and futures design projects.
