School Holiday Program: Introduction to Photography Techniques (Council Led Event)

Shutterbugs unite in this workshop, learning the fundamentals of composition, lighting and editing. Discover how these elements can elevate your snapshots and bring out the best in your images.

From basic tips to creative tricks, you'll gain valuable knowledge to enhance your photography skills. You'll even learn how to create double exposure photographs!

If you want to elevate your new photography skills even further, borrow a camera from our Digital Tool collection to continue your journey at home!

About the Media Lab and Digital Tool collection

The Media Lab boasts a professional studio set up with a cyclorama wall, green screens, studio lights and Surface Studios with the full Adobe Creative Suite. The digital tool library contains cameras, recording equipment and other digital accessories that can be borrowed for free with your library membership.

Please bring your own USB so you can save your digital files. USBs are available for purchase from the library for $6.30.

  • For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
  • The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
