School Holiday Workshop - MadLab Electronics (Council Led Event)

08/07/2024 - Hurstville Library.

Learn the art of electronic soldering while constructing unique and practical electronic devices in this workshop for 12 - 17 year olds. Increase your confidence and experience in this whole-day masterclass. Taking on progressively more challenging kits, learn practical problem-solving and apply your artistic flair to personalise your gadgets. You will take home your working kits, plus your own soldering station equipment!

During this workshop participants will:

  • Learn the safe use of soldering irons.

  • Develop an understanding of electrical circuits.

  • Modify electronic devices to suit creative ideas.

 
This workshop is suitable for young people who are interested in electronics and soldering, and all experience levels are welcome. 

Disclaimer: Soldering irons will be used during the workshops so age limits will be strictly adhered to. If children under the age of 12 are booked into this program, tickets will be cancelled and refunded at the discretion of library staff.

Cost

$25 per child to cover materials. At the end of the workshop participants will receive their own soldering set to take home.

More information

  • Participants under 16 must be signed in and out of the program by an adult. They will not be permitted to leave the library at the end of the program until they have been signed out.  

  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.

  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces and repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations, bookings may be refused in the future. 

  • The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
